The Ordinary Boys – Maybe Someday

Wow! The energy in this track is very refreshing. They sound like a bunch of angry young boys after listing to a lot of The Clash and The Buzzcocks. But there is something interesting about this release. From the start, the band grabs a hold of you and never lets go. The ordinary boys have to be one of the more exciting things happing in England right now. They brought punk rock back into England ; thank you.

Keane – Somewhere Only We Know

This song has cemented my dislike for Keane very much. It sounds very bland and way too much like some young blokes in a Coldplay tribute band. You can just tell that the public will eat this band up like candy. There are better things out there.

Stereophonics – Moviestar

Kelly and the gang are back with a new tune for us. The song is more of a throwback to the older phonics sound. The lyrics are pretty iffy “moviestar tell me where you are” but they do create a great sounding big stadium song. There is nothing better than being pissed at a gig singing a pop tune. The guitars are there usual self. The song is nothing particular new here. There is a fun time with this song if you’re a fan. If you never were into the band this will not get you in.

Von Bondies – C’mon C’mon

The first single off their major label debut album is a set up. The song has a slightly more polished sound, naturally. Carrie singing backup to Jason during the absolutely catchy chorus adds a bit of something here. The track has a dirtier and more chaotic sound and should do wonders for the band. It’s tons better than the White Stripes’ latest output.
