Infadels – Love Like Semtex

After hearing “Jagger ’67″ expectations for this band were very low. “Love Like Semtex” is an enjoyable disco punk tune. Musically, the bass is nice and pounding. It’s more of a rock song with the added keyboards and sythns. It’s catchy and it does get a bit annoying after awhile, once you realize it sounds at times like Jesus Jones. The track sounds a little dated sounding but still not a bad tune to bob your head to. It is rather a surprising single from a band I had written off early on.

Starsailor – Keep Us Together

This track is surprisingly alright. I have not been the bands biggest fan as of late. But I always keep giving this band another chance. The third single “Keep Us Together” lifted off “On The Outside” is a solid tune. James Walsh’s vocal on “Keep Us Together” is as good as he has sounded in ages. The “ohs and wos” give it a nice round big and epic feel. I actually found myself singing along at one point. Also, the track features some great use of the organ. The track seems like they are not trying so hard on it, this is more like a vintage Starsailor track. Now they should just release “In My Blood” to finish off the campaign.
