Snow Patrol – A Hundred Million Suns
Ah,Snow Patrol. This new album is out today(27th October). It has been two years since their album Eyes Open was released and became a bestseller. This new album will no doubt follow suit.
Like Feeder, this band’s new album encapsulates all that’s gone before, musically and lyrically.Snow Patrol have established themselves as a reliable middle of the road stadium indie band who appeal to everyone. Eleven tracks on this album, all of them poems set to music.
I like Snow Patrol, but have to say that their formula, although it works, could get a little one-dimensional. However Gary Lightbody’s voice is very good, but will we ever get an album from this band which is a little more optimistic?
Well – produced and polished, this album will do very well in the charts.Lifeboats is a track which stands out-it has a strong lilt and some nice strumming guitar and keys chugging the song along and it suits Gary’s voice. The Golden Floor is another beautiful track and the album cover is attractive-it catches the eye and is suitably abstract.
Please Just Take These Photos From My Hands is a typical trademark SP song of regret and broken love;in spite of its bouncy style it is a pretty sad song.
A whimsical, lovely album which will be immensely popular.
