George Pringle – LCD I Love You But You’re Brining Me Down

georgepringle 150x150 George Pringle – LCD I Love You But Youre Brining Me Down George Pringle is a young singer/artist from London. She has self-released one EP and this is first single release. Now, I love a good abstract track as much as the next person but I just don’t understand this track. The track seems to be centered around this one beat and drum pattern that sounds like it was made as a demo for some recording software. The vocal style is the best part of the song. I love the spoken word style of delivery and I feel that it is not used enough. But, the mix is off as you can barely hear her talking in the background until the bit “I don’t feel like dancing much anymore.” The song is a mess to be honest.

Good to see Pringle getting some more coverage. No such thing as ….. you know what. Perhaps the vocals are deliberately turned down? In the same way a lot of shoegaze vocals hid beneath the textures, it’s my opinion that this is the effect she sometimes goes for. A mess? No. An intriguing piece of pop music that challenges (fuck, i sound pretentious as fuck)? Yes.
