shontelle 150x150 Shontelle – Shontelligence
The election season is over but there was something else that seems to be coming out of that moment. Shontelle released a track “Battle Cry” in the run up to the election but in the video for the track there was audio clips of President Obama with her track and the results were an inspiration and not try to be cute but a battle cry. A little Wikipedia reading tells us that she is from Barbados and is signed to a subsidiary of Universal Motown Records who are releasing her debut album  the wonderfully tittled “Shtontelligence.”

Shontelligence’s one strong point as an album is that Shontelle has a much higher than above average voice. Also, the subject matter is an interesting back and forth. Just looking at the first two tracks you get the track “T-Shirt” and “Battle Cry.” She makes a statement about the fashion of people and then hits us with a rousing anthem. But once the album starts to get going it really finds it feet. “Superwoman” could easily find itself on the top of the charts in many countries charts. “Life Is An Easy Road” shifts gears on the album a bit and gives us a vibrant reggae track that is one of the standouts.

Shontelle is surely on the verge of some massive success with this album. The appeal she has is massive as she even got me hooked on her tracks. Shontelle will be one of the big names of next year.
