Kanye West – 808s And Heartbreaks

Just over a year since Kanye’s last album “Graduation” he returns with “808s And Heartbreaks. “808s and Heartbreak” is Kanye’s weird album and all pop stars have them. This will be a record that I lot of people will not like just flat out. There is no “Stronger” or “Jesus Walks” on here. That’s not to say that none of this tracks will be successful. There just is not that massive tune.
How does Mr. West start off his awkward album? Well, he throws out this over minute track that is same electro beats repeated over and over. It was cool the first listen but after a couple of runs through it was a bit too much for me to take. “Welcome To Heartbreak” starts to get the record going a bit. The track starts off with this almost film score like-into. “Heartless” is the current single lifted from the album and it is a natural single choice. The track features this sweet organs and Kanye actually raps. A good remix of this track could prove to be a rather big hit out there. “Amazing” is a fun little track. Young Jeezy does nice in the support slot here as the song starts to fade out he makes his presence known. “Street Lights” shows us a confused Kanye as ask the question ‘where am I in life?’
“808s and Heartbreaks” will do incredibly well that is a given fact. But, it will fascinate to see people react to the new sound that Kanye. The record is a rather bleak affair. Kanye had gone through a lot of personal matters over the last year so it is understandable. It took me a little while to get warmed up with the record.
