Defend Moscow – Manifesto
“Manifesto” the new single from Defend Moscow as completely new to me before putting the record on. I did not read the press release or hit the bands myspace so I had no expectations of the sound. But, what came on was a bit of a surprise to me. The track is a marriage of 80s synth pop with 70s disco traits that sounds like the band is having a conflict of identity. The track is also long at clocking in at over 4 minutes. I think many would look differently on the track if it was cut down to a crisp under three minutes because by the end I was a little bored. The included remixes with the single show that the band have the parts to make a great tune but they need to find out how to put them all together in a nice package.
