Franz Ferdinand – Tonight
I saw this band live recently at a small London venue. They are primarily a big venue band, but the small set I saw didn’t disappoint.
This album has twelve tracks and is the band’s third album. They sound to me like a somewhat less manic Foals, with their African-influenced rhythms, similar to the latter.
Tonight was recorded in Glasgow in late 2007.The first track on it, Ulysses,is a bit smartypants(“I’m bored…I’m bored…come on let’s get high”) but has been welcomed by diehard Franz fans. On No You Girls, Alex Kapranos’s voice is on top form and there’s a good chorus, its the “old”Franz, before they went a bit slick with some of the tracks on this album!
Send Him Away was played at the gig I attended.A good song, more of the genuine article from Franz.
Twilight Omens is my favourite track. It reminded me of a Sgt Pepper song. A very nice track-in my opinion the best on the album.
What She Came For -a good live track,I enjoyed this one immensely at the gig.
Live Alone is anthemic and very concise.
A good offering from Franz Ferdinand and it will be really well received.

we also have the same favorite ff song on that album
