Starsailor – All The Plans

all the plans 150x150 Starsailor All The PlansTrack one, Tell Me It’s Not Over is quite simply a great track I loved everything about it, the lyrics, the vocals, the sound which is individual enough not to be mainstream but it’s not weird either it has a good mix of everything with great drums going on throughout.

The Title track, All The Plans opens in the vein of many a classic track building and drawing you in, but for me it soon loses power, though it’s a nice enough track and should make the charts, the mouth organ towards the end killed it dead.

Track five, Neon Sky was darkly fascinating, beginning with guitar and lots of psychedelic sounds, the vocals are a tad higher, the music was excellent, this track is evocative, sung with feeling, the track dips perfectly at around three minutes in and there is a haunting instrumental section, at over five minutes long this quality track alone is worth buying the album for and is the stand out track.

I’ve heard of Starsailor but this s the first time I’ve sat and listened to them, they’re a great band, with great vocals their music is different, it has an edge, it’s rich with a multitude of sounds, in all a great album.
