Emmy The Great – First Love

firstlove 150x150 Emmy The Great – First LoveIs that not the most adorable cover art of all time or what? ‘First Love’ is the latest singer from Emmy The Great lifted off her album of the same name. ‘First Love’ is just as the title suggest is the story of a first love of Emmy’s who made her fall in love with that first spin of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah!” The song is a compelling story that grabs you in for every line for the five minutes. Just as how the song starts off “I remember how we met but your name I forget” you know that this track is going to be unlike most tales of first love. This song goes as a great example of why Emmy will become one of the great young storytellers out there. The bside to the sing is a cover of the Ash classic “Burn Baby Burn.” I never like covers but this is such a treat and done so well by Emmy that is a must have gem. Pick up the 7inch and the album neither will disappoint.
