Singles Roundup 4-20

Up first is the Tiny Masters of Today track, Skeletons. This has minimalist guitars and repetitive lyrics over drum loops. It’s a catchy song written by young kids (ages 13 and 15).

Next is Colours by Charlotte Hatherley. This is my favorite song of the set. It”s solid power pop songwriting. There’s a classic early 90′s alternative sound to the recording.

Following that is Trip It Up by Nursery of Naughtiness. It’s an electronica song. It would play well over an action movie where our hero is coked up and kicking ass.

Finally is Maximo Park’s The Kids Are Sick Again. It’s a pretty good upbeat rock song. There’s a good use of keyboards that can be uncommon anymore. Also, the vocals remind me a little of Tears For Fears, which is always a good thing.
