rubies 150x150 Rubies Explode From The Centre Rubies are a California – based female duo, whose music is classy electro indie-funk and moving lost love laments. This CD is mellow easy listening and consists of nine tracks.

The first track, Room Without A Key, is a catchy, slightly jazzy song, very pleasing to listen
to…with some hummable harmonies. Niice.

Too Bright is a song I enjoyed, with its clean vocals and a sense of desolation pervading
the song. The next offering is Signs Of Love, just as pleasant and crystal-clear on the ears.
I also loved Turquoise, with its pleasing choral harmonies at the start, and a warning in its
words “Take care who you love…”

Silver Mornings is a bit trite, a little twee, but it does fit in well with the other songs on the
album.

My feeling is that the first half of this CD is better than the second. On that summing-up I rest my case.
