Review: Music Go Music – Expressions

music go music expressions 150x150 Review: Music Go Music ExpressionsDisco? Disco is back in 2009 with Music Go Music’s debut album “Expressions.” While, Disco Revival is the last thing I would expect from a band signed to Secretly Canadian this is a record that I simply cannot stop listening to and constantly have been going to for weeks. “Expressions” won’t wow you with its originality and at times it sounds a lot like Blondie mixed with Abba but the bottom line is that these songs are fun and irresistible and sometimes you just need something like this in your collection.

The albums crown jewel is the nine minute stomper “Warm In The Shadows.” The track is a true disco pleaser and really made me feel like I was transported back to a wild places in the late seventies. “Light Of Love” is another one of those tracks that seems so familiar and you can’t help but smile each time it comes on. “Explorers Of The Heart” is as Abba as they ever get on this record.

“Expressions” is one of those records that is pure fun and enjoyment. It is the type of album that is out there to make us feel good and have a good time with. At times it feels closer to a greatest hits album than a debut record. Some of their early singles came out last year. I am just mad that I am late to the party.
