Review: Stars And Sons -If It’s Good For Me

stars 150x150 Review: Stars And Sons If It’s Good For MeBelle & Sebastian collaborating with Guillemots whilst trying to break the record for the fastest ever recorded single, is how Brighton’s piano pushing indie-pop Mike Lord led quintet Stars And Sons, comes across here. Tongue-in-cheek yet strangely convincing lyrics are delivered with rising heart by Lord. Who is backed to hilt with some baa baa baa backing and twisting crescendo reaching guitars.

‘If It’s Good For Me’ is a two and a half minute melee of refreshing chaos that is the perfect appetiser to their forthcoming debut album. Of the three remixes thrown in, the Twin Kings Remix accentuates the chaos through a tuneless introduction and builds in a funky horn element. It probably stretches out the best, the qualities contained in the A-side.
