Twining guitars and psychedelic vocals meet like strangers in a secluded corner of a sleazy night club, as Richard Ashcroft speaks of personal resurrection with throaty eloquence. He espouses mystical, yet down-to-earth lyrics, cushioned by sparse, booming percussion that gives body to proceedings.
