Review: Pendulum – Crush
More coarse ambience sneaks into the instrumental push and, the beats tend to bound rather than possess their customary rattle, ‘Crush’. These longstanding antipodean beat-pushers provide the darkly veiled, wrenching and echo inclusive vocals with more focus and meaning:
“Visions I have buried underground, return as abusers.”
A stirring, acoustic led interlude gives the revolving pop beats more impetus when they decide to take off. Song meaning is something that’s creeping into Pendulum’s mocksy, more and more. If this snippet is anything to go by, then lighters will be as important as glow sticks at their ever popular live shows.
