Doves – Kingdom Of Rust
A four year hiatus for Doves has finally come to an end. Their fourth album “Kingdom Of Rust” is due out in early April and the single will come out a week earlier. A lot has changed in the last four years but the Doves have come back stronger. The first thing that notice about the new material is lyrically it seems to be a bit more tender. “I long to feel some beauty in my heart/As I go searching right to the start” these lyrics bring out deep feelings of that emptiness and that desire to get something deeper and more fulfilling out of life. This and the teaser download single “Jetstream” show that they continue their rise from album to album. “Kingdom Of Rust” is another strong melodic masterpiece that is one of the early must listens of the year.

Doves – Kingdom of Rust

Doves – Jetstream
It has been about four year since Doves were last out and about with “Some Cities.” But, the band have always proved that their material will be worth the wait. The band will release their fourth album “Kingdom of Rust” in April but have offered up “Jetstream” as a free download. The track is certainly not a single material but anyone who has given this track could not be nothing but excited for this record. The first two minutes are very minimal with a slight pitter patter creating the backdrop along with a few other blips. The song almost has a schizophrenic feeling to the song as the drum beats are keeping that steady pace but a lot of other noises are being throw at you. The band are back to their fine form and hopefully the band can deliver us another classic album this spring. This track has gotten them started.
