Glasvegas – Flowers & Football Tops

Last week Alan McGee said the band could become the “biggest band in the world.” So, it seemed like no better time to review the bands latest single. “Flowers & Football Tops” is the latest single from their hugely successful debut album. The album version clocks in at almost seven minutes (radio edit chops it in half) and it is a towering epic track. For some reason at about the five minute mark in the song singer James Allan bust into a rendition of “You Are My Sunshine.” It is something you don’t expect at all . Personally, it seems a little hokey and unnecessary part to an otherwise cracking tune. Alan McGee might be right in the long run but for now Glasvegas could use another round.
