Goldfrapp – Caravan Girl

caragirl 150x150 Goldfrapp Caravan GirlThe last week or so I have been in a Goldfrapp mood. The weather has been getting warming and the bands latest album “Seventh Tree” is the perfect record for that transition into the summer months ahead. After listening to the “Happiness” remixes way to much I was happy to see “Caravan Girl” come on the release calender. It starts off with a slow hum and a few crashing drums that build into this sweet, breeze and I dare I even say “sun-kissed” summer anthem. It is the third single from the record so it is going to win over a lot of people. But, the song is just really nice to listen to as the weather gets warmer and we prepare for yet another summer.

Goldfrapp – Monster Love (Goldfrapp Vs Spiritualized)

happiness Goldfrapp Monster Love (Goldfrapp Vs Spiritualized) “Monster Love” is the gorgeous final track on Goldfrapp’s latest album “Seventh Tree.” The song got the remix treatment from Spirtualized. I love remixes and they have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. This remix just set off a chord with me. First, this is a brilliant collaboration the adding of the J.Spaceman instrumentals to Alice voice is something that is long over due. The first three minutes of the song are simply heavenly. Then Spaceman even breaks in and gets in on the vocal play. The original song was already a really pretty piece of music. It was not one you would immediately think of for the remix treatment. J.Spaceman helped turn this song into something really special.

Goldfrapp – Happiness

happiness1 Goldfrapp HappinessGoldfrapp’s latest album has seen its fair share of mixed reviews from the people. We landed on the positive note and “Happiness” is the perfect single to explain to the world why we love this duo so much. If you were not happy with the sound of the first single some might feel more comfortable with this tune. The song sees Alison croon over a lush electro-grove. Alison vocals are very gruff and muff and the backdrop is nearly other wordy. It is just a really tender and mind bending pop song that is really easy to get lost inside. The trumpets at the end take the song to a whole new level. It might be something you can dance to this is something you could fall asleep to.
