Kasabian – Vlad The Impaler
What we have here is the Kasabian’s latest single, “Vlad the Impaler”. This fun tune will get you moving from the first beat. It’s simple. It’s effective but it’s also chockfull of leftover lyrics from the 90s, such as, “Get loose/Get loose”.
The hook is played by a distorted bass guitar that is as relentless as its gut-mashing beat, which will find your fist banging on top of a bar but unfortunately do not drown out the cheesy lyrics. There are a lot of cheesy lines…A LOT. But chances are you’re not into Kasabian for their poetry. You’re into the band because they make your ass move, so if that’s what you’re expecting, you win.
This first single is our first glimpse of the anticipated, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum due on June 8. If the rest of the album is as fun as this track, then we’ll find some new hits for our summertime soundtrack.

Kasabian are primed to release their third record The West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum on June 9th, 2009 in the United States on RCA Records. Produced by Serge Pizzorno and Dan the Automater (Gorillaz, DJ Shadow), it is a follow up to their second album Empire
