Lady Sovereign returns with new single “I Got You Dancing”

Lady Sovereign – Public Warning
Finally, “Public Warning” sees the light of day. But has it been worth all the wait? Well, honesty no. The album runs thirteen tracks with two versions of “Love Me Or Hate Me.” If we flashback to last November Lady Sovereign released an EP to hold us over to the album. The EP contained “Random” “Fiddle With The Volume” and “A Little Bit of Shhh.” All the tracks are included here. Also, included on the album are previous singles “9 to 5″ and “Hoodie.” Finally, the two versions of “Love Me Or Hate Me.” So, going into this record anyone who has been following her career are already well familiar with these tunes.
All of those seven tracks still hold up well. It seems like we have been listening to “Fiddle With The Volume” for a few years now. The albums down fall is when the Lady goes rap-rock on us like in the track “Public Warning.” She needs to stop hanging around The Ordinary Boys. She is her best on a track like “9 To 5″ or “Hoodie.”
The album is not bad by any means its just that there is not much new here. We have over half the songs already. Its albums like this which, makes you happy that Itunes exists. The remix with Miss Elliot on “Love Me Or Hate Me” is a nice touch, they work well together. Next, time more guest and less rock.
