The Victorian English Gentlemens Club – Parrot
The Victorian English Gentlemens Club return to follow up their debut album that was released back in 2006. Just in case you are not familiar with the band I think the name will show you that they march to the beat of their own drum and that what makes this band is so appealing. “Parrot” is exactly what you would want to have in a comeback single. The track starts off with this dark and dirty bass and within a few seconds you hear a ramshackle voice ask you to “make my parrot talk.” The track is a fast mover at just over 2 minutes and very simple lyrically. The song does whet my appetite for the band’s second record which, will be a must-get. Also, check out the video for this track as it is one of the finer videos of the year.
