thecocknbullkid Brings Her Pop Stateside With Official U.S. Release
thecocknbullkid has been busy working up an arsenal of sonic ideas into fully fleshed out tracks. Her first EP, “Querelle”, will be released on August 4, 2009 in North America on IAMSOUND Records. This four-track release features production from all over the spectrum, ranging from Radioclit (The Very Best, Santigold, Bonde do Role) to Dave McCracken (Beyonce, Ian Brown of The Stone Roses).

After many listens to this track I still have yet to make an opinion about this. Thecocknbullkid is Anita Bay and is out of London and this is her debut single. To her credit I was never bored during this track and Anita is a fascinating personality. She has a great haircut and acute fashion sense. You never want to take your eyes off her. The bside of the single takes a more MIA style to the song so its a little hard to pinpoint the style that she is going for. For such a young artist Anita has a lot of intangibles that will help her such as the name and her style. I think if the substance of the tunes improves she could be a artist to watch this year.
